The quasi-portraits, still-lives and abstractions from the last year are meditations on the practice of painting; and reference a variety of sources from Odilon Redon to my mentors and contemporaries.   While chance, intuition and humor have become more prevalent in my work, my interest in investigating transcendence remains.
